SESP IT On-Boarding Process

In order to prepare for your arrival at SESP, the hiring coordinator needs to fill out a New Employee on-boarding form.

Northwestern NetID

Northwestern NetID is automatically created for a new employee once the HR hiring process is complete. You will receive your NetID and temporary password from the SESP hiring coordinator. You will need to change your netID password following the instructions forwarded to you by the NetID coordinator.

NetID Usage

Your NetID provides access to SESP and University IT systems including;

Computer setup

Upon receiving a completed on-boarding form, SESP IT will:

  • Configure your computer with the latest operating system and updates
  • Install standard software
  • Install printers
  • Provide access to shared SESP IT resourceS
  • Deliver your computer to you and or setup it up in your office
  • Connect your computer to Northwestern wireless network

For Students

NetID

Your University provided NetID is key to accessing most SESP and Northwestern IT resources.

SESP students receive a NetID and activation code from the Admissions office. Your NetID must be activated before you can use it.

SESP technology resources for students:
  • Printing through papercut: sesp.northwestern.edu
  • Annenberg wireless access (sesplearningstudios)
  • Project in some SESP classrooms using Solstice projection
  • Access to statistical software; Atlas.ti, Nvivo, and stata through SESP Thinclient computer
